World Water Day observed at Getz Pharma
March 22 marks World Water Day, celebrated internationally to spread awareness about water related issues around the world. Useable fresh water remains a limited resource and has to be conserved. Led by the Environment, Health and Safety Department at Getz Pharma, employees celebrated this day with enthusiasm, by wearing the color blue and pledging to take actions to conserve water.
The Getz Pharma Sri Lankan team celebrates Annual Sales Conference
The Getz Pharma Sri Lankan team celebrated its Annual Sales Conference 2015 in Pattaya, Thailand on March 19, 2016. Forty participants from the Getz Pharma marketing and sales teams attended the half-day event, along with Mr Saman Dissanayake, country head for Sri Lanka, and Dr Imran Danish, who represented the Getz Pharma head office. The key idea behind the annual conference was to look at the successes and failures of 2015, discuss the challenges and opportunities prevailing in the Sri Lankan pharmaceutical market, and plan company-wide strategies to reinforce Getz Pharma Sri Lanka’s Vision of becoming the fifth largest pharmaceutical company in Sri Lanka by 2020. The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony where hardworking and dedicated members where acknowledged and rewarded, and seven promotions were announced.
Debunking Myths about the Pharma Industry in Pakistan
There are myths being circulated in the Pakistani media through newspaper articles and television statements about how the prices of drugs have been increased and how the prices of medicines in Pakistan are higher than most countries in the world. The facts are exactly the opposite. Prices of medicines have been frozen for the last 13 years and out of 80,000 medicines registered, the prices of only 150 have been adjusted in the last 13 years because of hardship.

Getz Pharma launches Football Academy
Getz Pharma helps the community through various educational, health and social inclusion programs. As part of its CSR initiatives, Getz Pharma launched the Getz Pharma Football Academy in Korangi, Karachi in February 2016. Established in the vicinity of the plant, the academy is developed to promote football among underprivileged youth in the area by providing them with top quality coaching, football equipment, and financial assistance for their schooling. Getz Pharma’s vision for the academy is to bring upon long--term transformational change through the promotion of healthy recreational activities, sports, and education to make these individuals role models for their families and community.
Getz Pharma's Quality Control Laboratory has achieved WHO Pre qualification Certification
Getz Pharma is the first and only company of Pakistan, to have a Quality Control Laboratory Pre-qualified, Accredited and Validated by World Health Organization (WHO) – 3rd in the region and one of 38 in the world.
According to WHO, 'Getz Pharma Pvt. Ltd. is considered to be operating at an acceptable level of compliance with WHO Good Practices for Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratories (GPCL) and is included in the list of Prequalified Quality Control Laboratories together with the areas of expertise inspected and considered Prequalified'.
Getz Pharma Donates Rs. 25 Million to IBA for Promoting Quality Education in Pakistan
At a simple but impressive ceremony on November 20th, 2012 at Institute of Business Administration (IBA) City Campus, Getz Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd. donated Rs. 25 million to the IBA for promoting quality education in Pakistan. In the ceremony, Dean & Director IBA, Dr. Ishrat Husain and Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Getz Pharma, Mr. Khalid Mahmood signed a Memorandum of Understanding that is aimed to establish strategic partnership between both the parties to promote academic and applied research in the country.
Getz Pharma donates Rs 5 Million towards Surgical Skills Lab at CPSP on its Golden Jubilee
In an auspicious golden jubilee celebration of "College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan" (CPSP) at its campus in Karachi, Getz Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd. made a donation of Rs. 5 Million for the purchase of simulators for the surgical skills training & education laboratory. The cheque was received by Prof Syed Tipu Sultan, Prof Tariq Mahmood Khan, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal & Prof Asghar Butt on behalf of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan. This event will go in the history of Pakistan Pharma industry as yet another first as this project would provide huge and direct benefits to the medical community and to the ailing humanity.

Getz Pharma wins first prize for gardens
Getz Pharma was awarded first prize for its gardens in the Horticultural Society of Pakistan’s (HSP) Annual Flower Show 2016. Getz Pharma has participated in this citywide competition organized by Pakistan’s premier horticultural society since 2009. From 2011 to 2014, Getz Pharma achieved the coveted first prize in the Industrial Gardens category for its gardens, and in 2015, first prize in the Spot Beautification category for its roundabout in the Korangi Industrial Area.

Getz Pharma is proud of its foray into social media through the launch of its page on Facebook. The Facebook page provides information about Getz Pharma, different internal and external events and activities organized by the company, as well as health and fitness tips to help individuals lead a better life. Within a mere six months of its launch, the Facebook page garnered more than 100,000 dedicated followers.
